Pure Blue Interior
After the many tableware lines, cooking pots and kitchen accessories, Pascale Naessens expands her universe for Serax with a bathroom line. This new bathroom line is stoneware and is finished with her favorite blue glazes. Pascale wants to make everyday actions special by creating beautiful objects for them. Is it cooking, making tea or taking care of yourself in the bathroom ... beautiful ceramics just make it more fun.
Pure Blue Interior by Pascale Naessens for Serax
"Making beautiful objects that you can use in and around the house is my way of breaking the drudgery of everyday life. I try to turn everyday actions into rituals that make you happy, like cooking or taking care of yourself in the bathroom."
Bathroom Accessories
The blue glazes she is so fond of, which she previously applied to a line of tableware, Pascale now used for elegant jars and bowls with matching lids. At the center is the round jar with a lid that has a conical neck at the top, inspired by the vase. This object can serve perfectly for bath salts or for burning an incense stick. But equally well as a vase for a few flowers.
The cheerful Pure Interior line is multi-purpose, from the bathroom to the kitchen. Put these objects on the table, complementing the blue plates and cups, and they effortlessly allow themselves to be used to serve salt, spices, cookies, etc. The possibilities are endless.
Serax is a Belgian family business, regularly Axel's mother walks around it, she is actually the founder of the company.
When I arrived there 13 years ago, Serax was not yet working so much with ceramists. Roos van de Velde was one of the first, a very good ceramist and a real artist. I have seen the company grow and in the meantime, Serax is working with top national and international ceramists/designers such as Fréderick Gautier, Antonie Sciortino, Anne Demeulemeester, Marie Michielssen ... and top culinary chefs such as Sergio Herman and Ottolenghi. I feel particularly honored in their company.
Serax has also become very important as an international player, they sell all over the world. As a result, I regularly get forwarded photos from Belgians abroad who let me know that they have dined on my ceramics in Bali, Maldives, China, Poland, ...
