Pure wooden spoons
Cooking with beautiful and practical objects makes happy
Cutting boards and wooden spoons are indispensable in the kitchen. But again, Pascale found it difficult to find her liking in the usual versions of these kitchen tools. For the "Pure" collection of kitchen accessories made of carbonized ash wood with natural oil, she chose pure, simple shapes and a color that continues throughout the collection, a design where the wood speaks for itself. Functional cutting boards with the angled rounded edges to make them easier to grip and a moisture edge that collects excess liquids. Wooden spoons and spatulas that, thanks to their innovative design and looks, extend their usefulness from the kitchen to the table to serve the dishes prepared in the stylish pots and pans. And finally, a series of unmistakably striking wooden trays that are not only convenient to use, but also become beautiful eye-catchers on the table. Pure by Pascale Naessens for Serax, for experiential, happy moments in the kitchen and at the table.
Serax is a Belgian family business, regularly Axel's mother walks around it, she is actually the founder of the company.
When I arrived there 13 years ago, Serax was not yet working so much with ceramists. Roos van de Velde was one of the first, a very good ceramist and a real artist. I have seen the company grow and in the meantime, Serax is working with top national and international ceramists/designers such as Fréderick Gautier, Antonie Sciortino, Anne Demeulemeester, Marie Michielssen ... and top culinary chefs such as Sergio Herman and Ottolenghi. I feel particularly honored in their company.
Serax has also become very important as an international player, they sell all over the world. As a result, I regularly get forwarded photos from Belgians abroad who let me know that they have dined on my ceramics in Bali, Maldives, China, Poland, ...
